More trouble for Lanre Gentry as LASG writes police demanding transfer of case with Mercy Aigbe

The absence of Mercy Aigbe purportedly stalled the court hearing of her husband Lanre Gentry’s case, who is standing trial on three counts of domestic violence, assault, and threat to life.

Chief Magistrate Folakemi Davies-Abegunde adjourned the case till June 7th for further hearing owing to the absence of Mercy who is presently in the UK for further medical check-up, but not after consulting wit officials of the Lagos State Domestic Sexual Violence Response Team (DSVRT) in a closed door meeting.

Reports say Lanre Gentry stormed the court premises dressed in a navy blue coloured buba and sokoto and took a seat at the back of the court room in-between family members and his close associates who reportedly fended off anyone that attempted to come close to him.

On her return, Mercy is expected to tender before the court, through her counsel, Adeola Falade, the medical report of the alleged domestic violence meted on her by her estranged husband.

Lanre Gentry could face up to three years in prison if found guilty of the charges levelled against him by the Lagos magistrate court.

The hotelier who has been charged on three counts by the magistrate court in Ikeja, Lagos, could spend that much time in prison after his wife accused him of battery and claimed that she has been enduring an abusive marriage.
