Late Casemiro equaliser earns Man Utd point against Chelsea

Published

A 94th-minute equaliser by Casemiro earned Manchester United a point from their Premier League clash with Chelsea on Saturday night.

In a dramatic finale at Stamford Bridge, Jorginho broke the deadlock for Chelsea in the 87th minute from the spot before Casemiro’s goal cancelled it.

The penalty was awarded to Chelsea after substitutes Scott McTominay and Armando Broja tangled at a corner.

United were without Cristiano Ronaldo, who was left out of the squad as a disciplinary measure following his refusal to come on as a substitute in the game against Tottenham.

Manager Erik Ten Hag will be happy with a point after coming close to leaving with nothing.

On the side of Graham Potter, he was at least able to maintain his unbeaten record as Chelsea manager but it could have been so much more satisfying.

With the draw, Chelsea remain fourth while United follow in fifth.
