Substitute Ruben Loftus-Cheek grabbed a dramatic late goal to help Chelsea complete a 2-1 comeback at Cardiff on Sunday.

After a goalless first half, the hosts deservedly got ahead in the 46th minute via a Victor Camarasa volley.

The Blues’ captain, Cesar Azpilicueta then headed an equaliser in the 84th minute despite being in an offside position.

Both sides thought they were going to share the spoils before Loftus-Cheek secured all three points with another header in added time.

While losing, Chelsea fans showed their frustration with loud chants of ‘we want Sarri out’ before the two late goals won them the game.

“In the end we were lucky but we deserved to win,” said Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri after the win.

“I am really happy for the three points. To lose today would have been really, really hard for us. We are fighting. We have opportunities so I am really very happy.”

The result is a major blow to Cardiff’s bid for Premier League survival, leaving them five points adrift of safety with seven games remaining.

For Chelsea, they stand on 6th with same points as fifth-placed Arsenal, who take on Newcastle on Monday.
