Late Sheffield Utd equaliser denies Man Utd an incredible comeback victory

Manchester United were denied of an incredible comeback win by a late Sheffield United equaliser in their six-goal thriller in the Premier League on Sunday.

Trailing 2-0 before the hour mark, the Red Devils put up a fight and successfully scored three goals in seven minutes to lead 3-2.

But a last-minute equaliser, which was awarded by the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) following a call for a potential handball, helped the hosts secure a point.

Oliver McBurnie’s 90th-minute strike after he controlled Callum Robinson’s cross sealed the 3-3 draw for Sheffield United, who started the game on a high note.

John Fleck had opened the scoring in the first half and Lys Mousset doubled their lead seven minutes into the second half, before United started a comeback with a Brandon Williams goal after 72 minutes.

Substitute Mason Greenwood levelled in the 77th minute and Marcus Rashford then sent the visitors ahead for the first time in the game, before McBurnie’s leveller.

With the draw, United climbed to 17th on the table and Sheffield 6th.
