LAVER CUP: Federer, Nadal play, win first-ever doubles together

Tennis superstars, Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal increased points for Team Europe as they played doubles together at the ongoing Laver Cup in Prague on Saturday.

The world no1 and no. 2 were joining forces on a doubles court for the first time in their careers.

The pair took centre stage on Day 2 of the event and beat Team World pair of Sam Querrey & Jack Sock 6-4 1-6 [10-5] to claim two points for their continent.

Earlier in the day, Federer had beaten Sam Querrey 6-2 6-4 as Nadal also saw off Jack Sock 6-3 3-6 1-0 (11-9), before pairing together in the doubles to register win over the US duo.

With one day left till the finish of the 3-day tournament at the Czech Republic, Team Europe are leading 9-3 against Team World.

Nick Kyrgios & Jack Sock (World) beat Tomas Berdych & Rafael Nadal (Europe) 6-3 6-7 (7-9) 1-0 (10-7)

Saturday 23 September:

Roger Federer (Europe) beat Sam Querrey (World) 6-2 6-4
Rafael Nadal (Europe) beat Jack Sock (World) 6-3 3-6 1-0 (11-9)
Nick Kyrgios (World) beat Tomas Berdych (Europe) 4-6 7-6 (7-4) 1-0 (10-6)
Roger Federer & Rafael Nadal (Europe) v Sam Querrey & Jack Sock (World) 6-4 1-6 [10-5]

As it stands, Team Europe are leading 9-3 against Team World.

The first team to reach 13 points will win the inaugural Laver Cup, with a doubles decider played if the scores are tied at 12-all.
