Lawyer who Trump Jr. met also represents Russia’s Secret Service, court papers reveal

The Russian FSB security service has been listed as one of the clients of Natalia Veselnitskaya, the Russian lawyer who reportedly met with Donald Trump Jr. soon after his father clinched the Republican presidential nomination last year.

That much information was revealed by Russian court documents seen by Reuters which shows that the lawyer successfully represented the FSB’s interests in a legal wrangle over ownership of an upscale property in northwest Moscow between 2005 and 2013.

It is also interesting to note that the FSB, successor to the Soviet-era KGB service, was headed by Vladimir Putin before he became Russian president.

Recall two weeks ago that Veselnitskaya denied links with Kremlin during an interview with CNBC when asked about the nature of her meeting with Trump Jr. who visited her immediately after his dad clinched the Republican presidential nomination last year.

During the interview she said it is “possible” that the president’s son was looking for damaging information on the Democratic Party.

Speaking during the exclusive interview, she said; “They wanted it so badly,” she said in a segment that aired Tuesday on NBC’s “Today.” “I never knew who else would be attending the meeting. All I knew was that Mr. Donald Trump Jr. was willing to meet with me.”

Donald Trump Jr. also confirmed the get-together in a statement, describing it as “a short introductory meeting” that focused mainly on the issue of child adoption. He said he also asked Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner and then-campaign manager Paul Manafort to take part in the meeting. A lawyer for Kushner also said Trump’s son-in-law “briefly attended” the meeting.
