Leadership crisis rocks Code of Conduct Bureau

Published

on

A major leadership crisis is rocking the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) following the recall from retirement of a former Acting Secretary to the bureau, Mrs. Folashade Kolawole, and her reinstatement to her former position in the agency.

In what appears like a re-enactment of the Mainagate saga, the retiree was smuggled back into service following “orders from above” and thus leaving the organisation with two heads and a divided workforce. Investigations showed that Kolawole voluntarily disengaged from the services of the CCB in April 2017 following her suspension for alleged misconduct and sabotage by the board of the organisation.

In her letter dated April 12, 2017 and addressed to the Chairman, Code of Conduct Bureau, Kolawole wrote inter alia: “This is to most graciously notify you of my voluntary retirement from the services of Code of Conduct Bureau with effect from 12th July 2017, having served the Bureau for 32 years and four months, at various levels up to my current position as Acting Secretary, CCB.
