Leicester Boss Shakespeare not ready to let go of Ndidi

Leicester City manager Craig Shakespeare has said his side will turn down any bid that’d want Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi taken away from the club this summer.

Three London-based clubs Arsenal, Tottenham and Chelsea as well as Manchester United have reportedly all shown interest in signing the 20-year-old Nigeria international by the end of the current campaign.

Ndidi joined the Premier League champions from Genk in January for £15m, and his Leicester Boss believes he’s one of the club’s best players.

“No problem with speculation. We have our best players tied down. There can always be bids, we can turn them down,” Shakespeare said during his pre-match conference on Monday ahead of Leicester’s EPL clash with Sunderland on Tuesday.

Ndidi scored a thunderous 25-yard strike to help his side secure a fourth consecutive win for Craig Shakespeare who became only the fifth manager to win his first four Premier League matches as the champions defeated Stoke City 2-0 at the King Power Stadium on Saturday.

“I hope he (Ndidi) here for a long time. He’s under a long-term contract. We want to keep our best players. He is one of them,” Shakespeare continued.

“We’re always reluctant to put much pressure on young players. But he (Ndidi) is tailor made for the Premier League.”

Ndidi has scored once in the league and he is poised to make his 10th EPL appearance for Leicester City who take on relegation battlers Sunderland at the King Power stadium on Tuesday.
