Lekki Gardens MD dragged to court in handcuffs

The Managing Director of Lekki Gardens, owners of the collapsed multi-storey building in Lekki, Mr. Richard Nyong has been arraigned in court by the Lagos State government.

Nyong, whose multi-storey building collapsed early in the week, killing about 35 persons, was taken to court in handcuffs alongside another contractor on Friday. They were arraigned before an Ebute-Meta Magistrate Court.

It would be recalled that the multi-storey building belonging to Nyom’s company collapsed on Tuesday, killing 35 people. The state government, had through one of its agencies, said the company only had approval to construct a four storey building.
