The Ekiti state house of Assembly, Thursday approved a N10 billion supplementary budget sent to it by the outgoing governor of the state, Peter Ayodele Fayose.
The approval of the supplementary budget is coming less than one month to Fayose’s handing over to the governor-elect, Dr. Kayode Fayemi.
The request by Governor Fayose angered Dr Fayemi, who on Wednesday, threatened that whoever takes part in what he said is a fraudulent action, will be severely dealt with.
At the sitting that commenced at about 12pm and attended by 14 members of the assembly, the Speaker, Kola Oluwawole, who presided, said the bill had gone through the first and second readings as well as committee review before its passage within the hour.
journalists were however asked to leave the chamber before the lawmakers commenced proceedings.
