Nigerian rapper Folarin Falana, popularly known in music circles as Falz the Bahd Guy is daring the Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) group to take him court over the controversy surrounding his recent music video titled ‘This is Nigeria.’ to

Reacting to the seven-day ultimatum given to him to withdraw the music video or face legal action, Falz who spoke through his management in an interview with Premium Times said he is ready to meet the group in court.

“We have nothing to say. We are [neither] withdrawing the video nor commenting on their claims.

“If they have any grievance [against the video], they can head to court and we will meet them,” the artiste’s management team member, Mr Femi Soro said.

MURIC had in a statement signed by its director, Ishaq Akintola, expressed that it is offended that some girls dressed in hijab were dancing ‘shaku shaku’ in the music video.

The group in the statement also described the video as thoughtless, insensitive and highly provocative and intended to denigrate Islam and Muslims.

Recall that after facing a lot of backlash with many critics positing that it was flagrant of him to turn sensitive issues in the country into a satire, Falz in explaining the essence of the video said the musical clip was done to address societal ills.
