Like El’Rufai, Ajumobi prunes ministries from 21 to 13
Seemingly following in the footsteps of the Kaduna State governor, Nasir El’Rufai, Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo has reduced the number of ministries in the state from 23 to 13.
Ajimobi who made the announcement on Tuesday in Ibadan during the inauguration of the 8th Assembly in the state, said the decision was taken to reduce the cost of governance considerably, and to restructure the Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) for optimum performance.
“Our desire to embark on the foregoing, among others, is borne out of our ardent desire to make life more abundant for the good people of Oyo State. Likewise, for the state to attain the desired global status that she deserves,’’ he said.
Ajimobi said that his vision was to make the state a place where everyone could be whatever he or she positively desired.
