Brazil forward, Roberto Firmini and his Senegalese teammate, Sadio Mane, came through for Liverpool in their home victory over Burnley in the Premier League.

The visitors went ahead barely six minutes into the encounter at Anfield through an Ashley Westwood corner.

But two first-half goals by Firmino and Mane put the Reds in the lead before halftime.

The hosts added a third when Firmino scored his second following Heaton’s poor clearance before Burnley pulled one back late on through Johann Berg Gudmundsson.

Mane then went around the Clarets’ keeper in injury time for his second of the day to seal the 4-2 win, which keeps Liverpool one point behind Manchester City in the League table.

Only eight league games of the season remaining till it is over, and the Reds are keeping the pressure on leaders and champions Manchester City.
