Liverpool loan Awoniyi to FSV Frankfurt

After several days of speculations, Liverpool have confirmed the signing of U-23 Eagles striker, Taiwo Awoniyi, before sending him on loan to German side FSV Frankfurt.
Awoniyi, 18, joins from Imperial Academy in Nigeria and was also a target of Ligue 1 side Monaco before opting for the Merseyside club.
Awoniyi has represented Nigeria’s youth teams at various levels and is currently part of the U23 side looking to qualify for next year’s Olympic games.

Having completed his move to Anfield, a jubilant Awoniyi told Liverpool’s official website:
“This is the biggest club in the world and I’m privileged to be here.
“I’ll try to develop myself very well so that when I come back to Liverpool I’ll be able to add value to the team.
“When I’m in the red shirt, I will always give my very best to make the fans happy.”
