Liverpool loans Awoniyi to NEC Nijmegen

Liverpool of England have loaned out Nigeria’s U23 Eagles striker Taiwo Awoniyi to Dutch Eredivisie side NEC Nijmegen subject to a work permit.

The Kwara-state born striker completed a move to ‘The Reds’ last August and will spend the duration of 2016-17 with the Eredivisie side.

The 19-year-old was loaned out to German 2 Bundesliga side FSV Frankfurt for the 2015/16 season.

He only scored once in 14 matches as FSV got relegated to the German third division.

Awoniyi has been capped by Nigeria at U-17, U-20 and U-23 Olympic team levels.
