LMC GIWA LEAGUE

The League Management Company (lmc) has expelled Giwa FC from the Nigeria premier league after failing to honour a total of three matches.

Giwa failed to honour games against Wikki, Akwa United and Enyimba after they were banished to Ilorin following crowd trouble in their home game against Enugu Rangers in Jos, which was abandoned.

Provisions of Rule 13.28 which state as follows: “If a club fails to honour three matches cumulatively within the league season without acceptable reason to the LMC such a club shall be expelled from the League and its matches played and unplayed shall be cancelled.”

Making the announcement on Friday, the LMC maintained that expulsion became necessary after the club breached the rules governing the competition.

“Giwa FC has been expelled from the 2015/2016 Nigeria Professional League Season,” announced the LMC on Twitter.

“Giwa FC is in breach of the NPFL Framework and Rules for failing to honour three cumulative fixtures without
acceptable reason”, the tweet noted.
