Lobi Stars kicked off their CAF Champions League campaign with a win over South African side, Mamelodi Sundowns at the Nnamdi Azikwe Stadium in Enugu on Friday.

The Nigeria pro-league club defeated their visitors 2-1 to ensure Sundown’s record of zero win in west Africa continues.

Anthony Laffor shot Mamelodi Sundowns into the lead after 38 minutes of play with an easy tap in.

But Lobi drew level with the last kick of the first half through a penalty, which Yaya Kone converted by sending Kennedy Mweene the wrong way.
