The Lagos State Lotteries Board (LSLB) on Wednesday read the riot acts to licensed bet operators in the state on indulging minors in staking bets in their centres.

The General Manager and Chief Executive Officer of the board, Seun Anibaba while addressing newsmen in Ikeja, said operators who failed to heed the warning of “Game Responsibly” would be fined, suspended and they might lose their licences.

He also warned that advertisements on the bet activities should not be placed near schools, adding that advertisements on television, which attracted children less than 18 years, would be sanctioned.

Anibaba, however, appealed to parents to sensitise and warn their children, who are minors, not to get close to any betting centre.

He said the LSLB enforcement unit would monitor bet centres, adding that any minor caught would face the consequences.
