EFCC boss Magu vows to eradicate corruption in 12 months

The presidency has discounted stories making the round that embattled chairman of the EFCC, Ibrahim Magu has been sacked.

Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr Femi Adesina told Ripples Nigeria during a telephone inquiry that there is no truth whatever to the claims.

According to him, Magu remains the acting chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.

He reiterated government’s position on the matter by asserting that the office of the Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF) is yet to submit its report on Magu.

Based on the reason given by Senate for rejecting the confirmation of Magu as substantive chairman of the anti-graft commission, President Muhammadu Buhari had directed the AGF to look into the allegations.

Senate had cited a report from the Department of State Services indicting Magu for wrongdoing as reason for its rejection.

Magu champion most headlines of newspaper throughout this December 2016. He is the man of the year. But it is a pity that he won’t champion 2017 as efcc boss.

I was right when i predicted that President Buhari will go about this matter his own way. He doesnt give a damn what the senators feel about it.

Who told you that. Buhari himself has lost confidence in Magu since he started lobbying for the position. So forget that matter for Mattias .
