Nigeria @ 56: Clueless, visionless APC has brought many woes, PDP says

Despite the insistence by the embattled factional leader of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff, that the Makarfi-led national caretaker committee be dissolved, the caretaker committee, Tuesday, named an 82 man zoning committee for the national convention of the party slated for August 17 in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.

The committee that has Ebonyi State Governor, Dave Umahi and Governor Ibrahim Dankwambo of Gombe State as chairman and deputy chairman respectively, is saddled with the responsibility of zoning party offices.

According to a statement by Senator Abdul Ahmed Ningi, who is a member of the caretaker committee in charge of Organization and Mobilization, the zoning committee, which has the immediate past Governor of Benue State, Gabriel Suswam as Secretary, also has former governors of Kano State, Mallam Ibrahim Shekarau, Dr Babangida Aliyu (Niger), Liyel Imoke (Cross River), Idris Wada (Kogi), Peter Obi (Anambra), Ramalan Yero (Kaduna), Otunba Gbenga Daniel (Ogun), Boni Haruna (Adamawa) and Ibrahim Shema (Katsina) as members.
