MALI: Jihadists attack UN camp, kill 3 peacekeepers

Three United Nations peacekeepers from the West African nation of Guinea lost their lives following an attack by Jihadists in the northern part of Mali which also left several others wounded.

Moments after the attack, Al-Qaida’s affiliate in Mali claimed responsibility for the incident during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan according to a statement translated by SITE Intelligence Group, which monitors terror groups.

The extremist group said it struck Guinean forces east of Kidal city after attacking the camp with intensive rocket and mortar fire.

The attack and deaths caused by the Jihadists were confirmed by the U.N. peacekeeping mission in Mali which is regarded as the deadliest active peacekeeping mission in the world.
