EKITI 2018: APC, Oni will be no match for PDP- Fayose

A 35-year-old commercial driver, Ahamed Kolo was Wednesday remanded in prison on the orders of an Ado Ekiti Magistrates’ Court over an alleged attempt to murder Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State following his arraignment by the police.

The prosecutor, Sgt. Monica Ikebuilo, informed the court that Kolo committed the offence on September24 at Ijigbo Street in Ado-Ekiti.

She alleged that he unlawfully attempted to murder Fayose by hitting him with his car, an offence she said contravened Section 320 of the Criminal Code, Cap C 16, Laws of Ekiti state, 2008.

The court did not take the plea of the defendant as his counsel;, Mrs. Felicia Nwandichi, applied for a short adjournment.

Subsequently, the magistrate, Dolapo Akosile, directed the prosecutor to duplicate the case file and send it to the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions for legal advice.

The magistrate then ordered that the defendant be remanded in prison until the adjourned date of October 9 when the case will resume for mention.
