It was gathered on Tuesday that the husband had asked the deceased to fetch him a bucket of water to bath, but the wife refused.

The suspect claimed he went out to get the water for himself, but on his return, the deceased accosted him, and asked him why he used the water she had kept in the bucket, which resulted to an argument and assault that led to her death.

The suspect, in an interview with journalists, accused the deceased of disrespecting him, and looking down on him.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Mohammad Abubakar who confirmed the incident, said that Tambari repeatedly hit his wife with a stick and she died on the way to the hospital, adding the suspect had been charged to court.
