Man, concubine appear in court for allegedly assaulting wife

The Osun State police command, on Tuesday arraigned one Mr Samson Awotidoye and his concubine, Mrs Toyin Ademola in an Ile-Ife Magistrates’ Court for allegedly assaulting his wife.

The Prosecutor, Inspector Monday Ojiezele, told the court that the defendants committed the offence at Ajebamidele area of Ile-Ife.

He added that Awotidoye was illegally married to Ademola, while his legal wife, Victoria, was still living and repeatedly assaulted her on several occassions.

After pleading not guilty to the charges, the presiding judge, Justice Olukunle Owolawi admitted the defendants to bail in the sum of N100,000.

He adjourned the case until June 28, for further mention.
