Vice Principal bags life imprisonment over rape of 12-yr-old student

The two-year-old marriage of a Lagos based couple has been dissolved by a customary court in Igando, Lagos state after the husband accused the wife of constantly checking his phone and calling him a cheat.

According to the 35 year old engineer, Andrew Epu who dragged his 32 year old wife, Tina, before the court, asking for their marriage to be dissolved, he is tired of her actions as he can no longer speak with ladies anymore except men.

“My wife is always checking my phone to know who I called or who called me. If the person happened to be a woman, she will be accusing me of dating the person. I am tired of her behaviour, as I can no longer speak to ladies anymore except men. My wife once sent hired killers after me but I escaped and also on Oct. 26, her brother and his gang attacked me and beat the hell out of me. I am tired and cannot bear it any longer.”

Continuing, Andrew added that his wife has denied him sex and left their home three months ago.

“Tina packed out of my house with my car, fridge, generator, gas cooker and other household items. “She later called me to inform me that she had packed out of my house that she was no longer interested in the marriage.”

Epu asked for the marriage, which had not produced any child, to be dissolved.

However his wife, Tina denied her husbands claims insisting she is still in love with him and not ready for a divorce.

“My husband is having affair with his staff and students and that is why he hates me touching his phone. Whenever I questioned him about what I saw on his phone, fight will follow.”

She said she never denied her husband sex nor threatened his life with hired killers adding that she only went away from their home with her own property.

After listening to the couple, the President of the court, Mr Adegboyega Omilola however granted Andrew’s wish to dissolve the marriage.

“Since the petitioner insisted on divorce after several interventions, the court has no choice than to dissolve the union in spite of the fact that the wife still claims she loves her husband.”

Omilola pronounced the marriage dissolved. He said the couple ceased to be husband and wife “and both are free to go your separate ways without any hindrances and molestation.”

It appears that there is no trust in the relationship from the onset. How the relationship even got to 2years is a miracle. A divorce will save the man from a sudden hot oil or acid bathe!

What a useless reason to break up a marriage. There is more to this.

I agree with you. Because checking of phone can not lead to divorce.. There is something they are not telling us

Nowadays, marriage has been bastardized. People wed today and break up the next day. There is no respect for the institution again all because lust and not true love beclouded couples to get married.

Yes now. Oyinbo (white men) culture has relegated African good and sacred marriage institution. Who marries a virgin again? Who marries a respectful woman again? All these factors have a long way to go if a marriage must succeed.

You have said it all. Western culture destroys our marriage.
The white men even allowed contract marriage where you marry for a period of time and later go separate ways because to them marriage is like a business to them. Even court system is another factor , what is the business of court to disunion a marriage ?

As much as this sounds funny, the woman was well served. Nigerian women need to get the ideology of checking their husbands phone off their heads. It’s silly to monitor your husband too much

“My wife once sent hired killers after me but I escaped and also on Oct. 26, her brother and his gang attacked me and beat the hell out of me. I am tired and cannot bear it any longer,” this is outrageous. No doubt, this is the real reason behind their divorce, he only used mobile device as ‘foreplay’

What made them married at first. Am sure there was metaphysical power behind this matter.
