Court remands 51-yr-old Polytechnic lecturer for rape, murder of 13-yr-old girl

A suspect, Abdullahi Ali, has been remanded in prison for allegedly murdering his mistress’ husband.

The Prosecutor, Sergeant Adebayo Thomas told the court on Thursday that Ali was arrested on April 26, after he allegedly stabbed the victim, Salleh Zakariyau’s to death in Bawagana Camp Via Baruteen Local Government Area of Kwara.

Adebayo added that the defendant conspired with one Umaru, who is currently on the run to carry out the murder after the deceased had warned him to stay away from his wife.

Magistrate Malik Mogaji, who did not take the plea of Ali, ordered his remand in Oke-kura Prison, Ilorin.

He adjourned the case until June 17 for further mention.
