Man sentenced to death for masturbating while reading Quran

An Iranian man has been sentenced to death by authorities for masturbating while reading the holy Quran.

Doctor of the convict, Akim Abubakar testified before authorities saying his patient ‘took pleasure in masturbating while reading the Quran’ adding that his patient allegedly told him that he touched himself ‘in an erotic fashion’ while reading verses concerning the 72 virgins promised to Muslim men in paradise and mentioned multiple times in the Quran.

But Abubakar, husband and father of two, pleaded that he was trying to cure himself from his addiction to masturbation through the lecture of the Quran, yet admitted he did not know that having an erection while reading the Quran was harram, or forbidden by Islamic law.

“His unholy relationship with the holy Quran forced me to set an exemplary sentence” the judge deliberated.

“If the act of masturbation is worse than eating the flesh of a pig, then masturbating to the Quran is worse than adultery”, Judge Mohammed Ibn Alkhazir declared, adding that; “Stoning is a duty laid down in Allah’s Book for married men and women who commit adultery” he concluded in court, ruling that this was also a “clear case of enmity against God”.
