Man United held by Swansea at Old Trafford

A late free-kick by Gylfi Sigurdsson earned Swansea City a point in their Premier League clash with Manchester United on Sunday.

The result kept the visitor’s survival chances but caused some damage on United’s push for the top four.

Wayne Rooney converted a penalty late in the first half to put the Red Devils ahead, before Sigurdsson curled over the wall from about 20 yards to cancel it out.

United stay fifth, level on points with Manchester City, who play Middlesbrough later on Sunday, and a point behind Liverpool after the same number of games.

The Jose Mourinho’s men continue in their growing list of injured players, as both Eric Bailly and Luke Shaw joined fellow defenders Phil Jones, Chris Smalling and Marcos Rojo.

However, United continue unbeaten for 25 games.
