The complete transfer is dependent on medicals as it is believed that Ugarte could fly to Manchester for a medical later on Tuesday.

The move comes at the same time as midfielder Scott McTominay’s proposed 30m euros (£25.37m) switch to Napoli.

Manchester United have started their Premier League campaign on a shaky note as they fell 2-1 against Brighton last Sunday having started with a 1-0 win in their opening game against Fulham.
