Manchester City climb to second after 2-1 win against Arsenal

The most crucial tie of the English Premier League week 17 fixtures between Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City and Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal ended 2-1 in City’s favour.

City came from behind to triumph over the gunners after they opened scoring as early as 5 minutes.

Arsenal opened the scoring from a good finishing by Walcott. The goal came in their first attack when Sánchez took the ball with his back to goal, 30 yards out, spotted Walcott, who controlled and composed himself and shoot to put the gunners ahead!

After half time, City scored the equaliser with their first attack of the half at the 47th minute when Cech’s goal kick landed on a City chest, and was popped around a bit, and then Silva lifted the ball over the Arsenal defence for Sané – who looked offside at the time but ran through and slide the ball into goal.

The winning goal came at the 72nd minute for City when De Bruyne’s super 50-yard pass found Sterling, who came into the area and gave himself room to swing his left boot to blast past Cech at the near post!

Ultimtely, City are now second on the table with 36 points, topping Arsenal and Liverpool who are both level on 34 points, until Liverpool play their outstanding tie against Everton on Monday.
