Liverpool and Senegal forward Sadio Mane picked up a hamstring injury last weekend and could be out for up to six weeks.

The 25-year old, who was substituted in the 89th minute during Senegal’s World Cup qualifier against Cape Verde, is likely to miss their two crucial games against South Africa on November 10 and 14.

Mane was suspended for three games following his red card during Liverpool’s Premier League clash with Manchester City, but is due to return this weekend when the Reds face Manchester United.

But the striker is set to miss the game at Anfield in addition to Liverpool’s league clash against Tottenham and both Champions League group fixtures against Maribor.

Mane has scored three goals in five league appearances so far this season.

Liverpool average 2.2 Premier League goals with Mane in the team, compared to 1.6 goals in his absence, while he played for his country at the Nations Cup last January.
