BORNO: Many feared killed as suicide bomber hits military post

Suspected Boko Haram suicide bombers on Sunday carried out attacks on Dalori and Dalori (2) Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camps in the outskirts of Maiduguri, the Borno State capital.

These two camps which are adjacent to each other and located along the dreaded Maiduguri-Bama road, are about 2km from the University of Maiduguri which was only recently attacked by Boko Haram.

It was gathered that the camps were hit by four separate explosions as they came under attack Sunday night, representing the first major attacks carried out on an IDP camp in the state capital.

These attacks are coming only few days after Tukur Buratai, the Chief of Army Staff, issued a 40-day ultimatum to the Theatre commander of the Operation Lafiya Dole, Major General Ibrahim Attahiru, to locate and finally end the reign of Abubakar Shekau, the Boko Haram leader.

No official statements have been issued yet on these latest attacks that continue a worrying trend sustained by the terrorist group.
