Super Eagles outcast, Obafemi Martins lost the Etihad Airways MLS Player of the Month for September after losing to Montreal Impact striker Didier Drogba.
Martins who plays for Seattle Sounders came second while Toronto FC star Sebastian Giovinco emerged in third position.
The Chelsea’s legend, who joined the Major League Soccer this summer, following his second spell at Stamford Bridge, scored seven goals in his last five MLS appearances.
