Mass purge: Buhari sacks 17 Perm Secs
A purge of the Federal Civil Service may be in the offing, as President Muhammadu Buhari has reportedly ordered the mass retirement of permanent secretaries.
Reports indicate that at least 17 permanent secretaries were asked to go.
In the absence of ministers, the permanent secretaries are the most senior officials in charge of the ministries
President Buhari was said to have made the decision known to the permanent secretaries during a meeting in his office at the presidential villa.
