The Flying Eagles of Nigeria will take on their Malian counterparts on Wednesday in their semifinal clash at the ongoing U-20 Africa Cup of Nations in Niger Republic.

Seven-time champions Nigeria have had a brilliant start to the campaign as they have also sealed their place for the 2019 U-20 FIFA World Cup billed to be hosted by Poland in May.

Nigeria won the Group A after beating Burundi and hosts Niger and drawing against South Africa.

They face Mali as they seek a spot in the final of the continental competition.

Flying Eagles Coach Paul Aigbogun said on Tuesday that, having met the first target of a FIFA World Cup ticket, his boys will play the remaining matches without any pressure and would turn out to be much better.

“We set the World Cup ticket as our first target for the championship. We have that now, so we are relaxed to go in their and give our best for the second target of winning the trophy, while playing without tension or stiffness.”

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has also revealed that the Nigerian players will be wearing a black armband during the game in Niamey to honour former Secretary General, Taiwo Ogunjobi, who died on Monday.

The game will kick off by 4:30p.m.

Meanwhile, the second semi final, also set for the Stade General Seyni Kountche, will see Group B winners Senegal tackle South Africa.
