Mayhem in Niger Delta continues as militants again attack Agip pipelines

The Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), said militants in Bayelsa state, early hours of Friday, blew up the Tebidaba-Brass Nigeria Agip Oil Company, NAOC pipeline, Goulubokiri Manifold and Lasukugbene pipeline.

Bayelsa state NSCDC Commandant, Desmond Agu, who confirmed the latest onslaught on oil installations by the militants, added that men of the Command on surveillance exchanged gun fire with the vandals.

“Reports from the swamp area indicate that last night (early hours of this morning) a gang of heavily armed youths with two double 200hp speedboats used explosives to blast three different points on the Tebidaba-Brass NAOC pipeline,” Agu said.

Neither Niger Delta Avengers nor any other militant group is yet to claim responsibility for the recent attack as the time of filing this story.

In the last one week, the militants has continued to unleash mayhem on oil pipelines so much that there is now hardly, any day without reports of attack on oil installations in the Niger Delta region.
