Police begins investigation into Melaye’s ‘kidnap’

The controversial senator representing Kogi West senatorial district, Senator Dino Melaye, has expressed strong nostalgic feelings about the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

In a video currently trending on social media the senator is seen dancing while singing “Oh my home, o my home”, a song that suggests he can no longer wait to return to the opposition PDP.

Noting in the song how his current All Progressives Congress (APC) suffered him, Melaye, who ended the song mocking APC by placing his two fingers on his face and drawing down his eyes, said he can no longer wait to reunite with his former party, the PDP.

Melaye had after his travails in the hands of the Nigerian Police that kept him in hospitals for weeks, been showing signs that he was going to dump the APC.

One of those signs was the senator’s change of sitting position at the Senate, from where APC senators seat to the sitting position of the PDP lawmakers.

The song by Melaye, a member of the new Peoples Democratic Party (nPDP) bloc of the APC, which had during the week declared itself Reformed APC (R-APC), some believe could be a pointer to the dangers awaiting the ruling.

This is especially as there are speculations that the formation of R-APC is the first step in the group’s plot to join PDP and interests to wrestle power from President Muhammadu Buhari and the ruling APC.

Already, there are speculations that the r-APC is in talks with the PDP, and that it’s the terms of agreement that’s stalling the members from joining the opposition party.
