Messi nets four goals past Eibar as Barca maintain 100% start

Argentinian forward, Lionel Messi scored four goals as La Liga leaders Barcelona maintained their 100% start to the season with a 6-1 win against Eibar on Tuesday.

Messi converted a penalty to give the hosts the lead in the 20th minute before Paulinho headed to double the lead on 38 minutes.

After the break, Denis Suarez netted Barca’s third but Sergi Enrich pulled one back for the visitors to make it 3-1.

Messi then scored twice within two minutes before a late fourth after exchanging passes with Aleix Vidal three minutes before stoppage time.

The win means Barcelona are top on the log with 15 points, five clear of second-place Sevilla, who have an outstanding game.

Messi, who is currently enjoying an impressive run of form, has scored nine goals in his last four La Liga appearances, with his four goals on Wednesday moving him to a total of 301 scored at the Nou Camp in 13 years.
