Ex-PDP spokesman Metuh collapses in court

A former National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, Chief Olisa Metuh, on Monday appeared in court carried on a stretcher.

He was produced at the Federal High Court in Abuja for continuation of his ongoing trial for allegedly receiving N400million from the Office of the National Adviser in 2014.

Given Metuh’s condition, the trial judge, Justice Okon Abang, adjourned the matter till March 14.

At the end of the brief proceedings, Metuh was again stretchered out to an ambulance of the National Hospital, Abuja, with number plate, 44Q 20FG, in which he was driven off.

At the previous hearing of the matter, Justice Abang had accused Metuh, of smuggling a fraudulent medical report into the court.

He vowed to send Metuh back to prison if he does not turn a new leaf, and declined an application filed by Metuh for an adjournment of the case as a result of ill health.

Metuh had previously failed to appear in court for his ongoing trial on the claim that he was on admission at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Teaching Hospital, Nnewi, Anambra State.
