It was a tragic day on Sunday for the residents of Kolokolo Quarters of Enerhen, in Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta state as a mid day fire destroyed property worth about N50.

According to reports, the inferno destroyed a number of makeshift houses and shops while residents were in church.

Speaking on the incident, a resident of the area, who gave his name simply as Ochuko, said: “The fire came from one of the makeshift apartments, when electric power was restored to the neighbourhood. Residents had gone to their places of worship when it started. We couldn’t rescue anything.
