Super Eagles captain, John Mikel Obi, says it was great to score after he found the back of the net for the first time this season to spur Tianjin Teda to victory in the Chinese Super League.
The midfielder proved important as his side came from one goal down to win 2-1 at home against Guangzhou R and F in a league encounter on Saturday.
“Great to score. Great to win! Keep pushing lads! 👊,” Mikel wrote on his Twitter handle on Sunday morning.
With the win, which is a second for Tianjin this season, they stand on eighth position with eight points in the 16-team league table.
Mikel has played six times for his club this season, and is yet to feature for the Nigeria as he missed out of the two friendlies against Poland and Serbia in March.
He is expected to captain the national side to the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia this summer.
