Super Eagles captain John Mikel Obi has reportedly sought advice from former Chelsea forward and Ivory Coast international Didier Drogba over a possible move from his English club Chelsea to French side Olympique Marseille.

Mikel, who will be out of contract at Chelsea in the summer, has not featured for the Blues this season and seems not to be in the plans of Italian coach Antonio Conte.

And Drogba has advised the embattled Nigerian play maker to move to Marseille where his experience in the game will be put to good use on the pitch.

“Mikel will find relevance at Marseille, I told him how well I was treated during my time there and above all it will help him stay close to his family”, Drogba allegedly told RAC1.

“Marseille are not doing badly this season and Mikel’s experience will come in handy in helping them finish the season on a high.” he added.

As it can be recalled, the erstwhile Ivory Coast captain joined Chelsea from Marseille in 2004, while Mikel joined in 2006. Mikel is said to respect Drogba’s opinion, and may be prepared to make the move in January.
