Igando, a Lagos community on Tuesday came under attack by militants who engaged military, police in gun battle.

Ripples Nigeria gathered that a fresh attack occurred in Totowu, a riverine community in Ishuti area of Igando, Lagos, leading to a gun battle between alleged Niger Delta militants and the military team deployed to the area.

Reports from the troubled community say that two yet-to-be identified persons were abducted by militants. The incident has left residents in shock, causing them to flee the area.

The militants who stormed the area around 4am, looted shops and shot into the air. The incident, it was learnt, left three policemen injured and caused residents of the area around Ikejobi Avenue, Ewedogbon Bus stop to flee their homes or hide indoors.
