Military offensive… fleeing B’Haram abandon pregnant girls (See Video)

About 214 of the girls rescued from the Sambisa Forest of the Boko Haram sect were discovered to be visibly pregnant. This is according to Executive Director, UNFPA, Prof. Babatunde Osotimehin, who also disclosed that in the last one year, the organisation had taken deliveries of over 16,000 pregnancies in the troubled North East part of the country.

Osotimehin said the organisation had put in place a formidable team in collaboration with the Federal and state governments, to first restore the dignity of the girls, who, he said, are facing severe psychosocial trauma.

On the state of the girls, he explained that most of them, due to the long period spent in captivity, required a special set of services that would facilitate their integration into society.

The military also recorded another hit against the Boko Haram terrorist group by arresting the group’s alleged supplier of fuel, diesel and foodstuffs, just as it overcame an ambush by the group killing many of the insurgents in the process.

Director of Defence Information, Maj. Gen. Chris Olukolade, said the military intelligence had been on the trail of the man until he was picked up in the early hours of Sunday at Daban Shata, a suburb of Baga, Borno State.

The arrest of the supplier is expected to cripple the logistics support that has emboldened the terrorists.

There were also video footages of air and ground bombardment of the camps of the terrorists, with many of the terrorists in their hundreds seen jumping into several pick up vans, trucks and motorcycles and fleeing at very top speed even inside the forest.

Operational videos showing how Nigerians troops are battling and dislodging terrorists inside the notorious Forest have shown the dexterity of Nigerian Air Force pilots as masters of their trade taunting the terrorists with hundreds of the latter running for their lives and fleeing into different directions.

In footage, the video depict how vulnerable women and children were cautiously and deliberately guided to safety by the Nigerian pilots.
