Mimiko nominates APC leader’s wife as Commissioner

Mrs. Olasinmi Akindele-Odunmbaku, wife of the vice chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State, Cardinal James Odumbakin, has been nominated as a commissioner by Ondo State governor, Dr Olusegun Mimiko.
Though the Commissioner- nominee is said to be a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), her husband is a close associate of the National leader of the APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.
Mimiko presented the name of Mrs. Odunmbaku to the House of Assembly for screening on Monday.
Commissioner for Information, Kayode Akinmade described Mrs Odunmbaku as a strong member of the PDP in Akoko North East local government area of the state.
Akinmade said Mrs Odunmbaku has contributed immensely to the development of the state.

According to him: “She is an active member of the PDP in her local government and she was formerly of the Labour Party.
“We came together to the PDP. She is very committed politician and well loved by people in the area.”
Mrs. Odunmbaku was said to have aspired to become the candidate of the PDP in the last House of Representatives election in Akoko North East/North West Federal Constituency of the state but the party ticket was eventually given to Deni Akerele.
It was learnt that Mrs-Odunmbaku was nominated as a commissioner to compensate her for the denial.
