MINIMUM WAGE: NLC holds protests in Lagos, Abuja

The Nigeria Labour Congress on Tuesday as expected, embarked on protests in some parts of the country over failure of Nigerian Government to finalise its new N30,000 minimum wage demand.

The Labour Union had after its meeting with the Federal Government failed to hold in Abuja on Monday, insisted that it will stage a nationwide protest to press home its demand for an executive draft bill on the N30,000 minimum wage to be transmitted by the presidency to the National Assembly.

The meeting between Federal Government and the union earlier on Friday was inconclusive and was rescheduled for Monday, but failed to hold.
