French Ligue 1 strugglers, Monaco have suspended manager Thierry Henry while they make a decision on his future.

The 2017 French champions are in the relegation zone after five wins in 20 games under World Cup winner Henry, who was hired in October after the departure of his predecessor, Leonardo Jardim.

The club made this known on Thursday evening, and also announced that Franck Passi, who was appointed as Henry’s assistant in December, will take training on Friday.

Passi has previously had spells as caretaker manager of Marseille and Lille.

Henry had apologised for using foul language to insult Strasbourg defender Kenny Lala during his side’s 5-1 defeat on Saturday.

Henry, having previously been Belgium assistant boss, is playing his first managerial role at the club where he started his playing career.
