Real Madrid continued their poor run with a loss at home to Levante as they suffered their fourth defeat in five games, setting an unwanted new record.

The result put further pressure on coach Julen Lopetegui, whose side remain fifth in La Liga, three points behind leaders Alaves and a point behind Barcelona, who take on Sevilla later.

Madrid fell 2-0 behind inside 13 minutes after Jose Luis Morales opened the scoring in the 5th minute and then Roger Marti doubled from the spot.

The hosts produced several great chances, before finally pulling one back in the 72nd minute when Marcelo fired a rocket past the Levante stopper.

The goal ended a run of 482 minutes of no goal, although it came 17 minutes too late to prevent them from losing.

Marco Asensio thought he had scored in the first half, but the effort was ruled out for offside

And the defeat at the Bernabeu breaks the mark they set back in 1985.
