AFCON 2017: Morocco knocks out Defending Champions Ivory Coast

Morocco and Tunisia have joined Nigeria, Egypt and Senegal to secure spots in the 2018 FIFA World Cup finals, as the five nations will represent Africa in Russia.

Morocco qualified for the global showpiece after defeating Cote d’Ivoire 2-0 away in Group C on Saturday, while Tunisia got through after a 0-0 draw with Libya in Rades.

Cote d’Ivoire needed an outright win to qualify while a draw would still have been enough for Morocco, but two first half goals by Nabil Dirar and Medhi Benatia sealed the victory for the visitors.
