Moses assist not enough as Spurs end 28-year Chelsea jinx; Iwobi wins with Arsenal

Super Eagles and Chelsea forward, Victor Moses was involved in a goal for the Blues which eventually did not count for much as Tottenham came from behind to beat the hosts 3-1 on Sunday.

A win would have moved Chelsea to within two points of fourth-placed Tottenham, but the defeat damages Chelsea’s hopes of finishing in the Premier League top four.

After soaking up some Spurs pressure, the hosts took the lead when Alvaro Morata headed in Victor Moses’ cross; but the effort was cancelled out when Christian Eriksen levelled just before half time.

English midfielder, Dele Alli then scored twice in the second half as Spurs earned a first win at Stamford Bridge in 28 years.

Victory for Spurs means they stand eight points above Chelsea, who are on fifth spot on the table, with seven games remaining till the end of season.

Earlier on Sunday, Super Eagles forward, Alex Iwobi was an unused substitute as Arsenal thumped Stoke City 3-0 at the Emirates Stadium.

After a rather frustrating first half, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang converted a 75th-minute penalty to break the deadlock after a disputed foul by Bruno Martins Indi on Mesut Ozil.

The Gabon striker doubled the lead on 86 minutes firing home from an Ozil corner, before substitute Alexandre Lacazette converted another penalty to seal the win for the Gunners.

Arsenal remain 13 points outside the Premier League top four, but will host CSKA Moscow in the Europa League on Thursday with hopes of using Europa triumph as an entry point for Champions League football next season still very much in play.
